SIPTU members to proceed with industrial action at Liebherr Container Cranes

SIPTU trade union members at Liebherr Container Cranes will proceed with planned industrial action at the company on Monday.

The union will join Connect trade union members and Liebherr Container Cranes at the Workplace Relations Commissions in April to discuss the sick-pay scheme.

Connect members have temporarily suspended industrial action as a result.

Joe Kelly of SIPTU says their strike action is going ahead due to other issues relating to unilateral changes to their terms and conditions.

The action will initially be one-hour rolling stoppages across all departments beginning on March 25th, and it is possible that could escalate.

Mr Kelly says they need terms and conditions before they can sit down and talk.
