Siamsa Tíre reduces waste to landfill by 50% in 2018

Siamsa Tíre, The National Folk Theatre of Ireland, has announced it has reduced its waste to landfill by 50% in 2018, as part of its Greening Environmental strategy.

As Ireland’s first certified Creative Green venue, it has led the way in reducing its emissions, improving energy efficiencies, improving management of waste and water, biodiversity and Green Procurement.

In 2018, Siamsa Tíre aimed to reduce its waste to landfill by 30% – it surpassed this through the introduction of new measures.

The team are continuing to work towards a long-term aim of zero waste to landfill by 2022 – by reducing the amount of waste produced, reusing and recycling.
