Environment Minister and Green Party leader Eamon Ryan has called for a cull of deer. He says deer and goats are causing significant damage and their numbers must be controlled in the interests of biodiversity. The Department of Agriculture has set up a working group to examine a number of possible solutions including encouraging more people to eat venison.
