Sharp increase in number of stolen bicycles in Kerry

There’s been a sharp increase in the number of bicycle thefts in Kerry this year. Bike lane Gardaí say the good weather during the summer, meant people were out cycling more frequently, leading to an increased number of bicycles being stolen. Most of the bikes were taken from town centres, but there were reports of thefts from gardens, outhouses and apartment complexes as well. In one incident alone on Wednesday night, more than thirty bicycles were stolen from one location in Killarney. Gardaí advise all cyclists to make note of the serial number of their bikes, and always make sure they are  securely locked when parked.
