Several bids placed on former north Kerry hotel

Around half a dozen domestic and international buyers have expressed an interest in a former north Kerry hotel.

The Golf Hotel in Ballybunion has an asking price in excess of a million euro.

In February 2016, it was announced that the Golf Hotel in Ballybunion was to close with immediate effect; poor bookings for the coming season was cited as the reason for the sudden closure.

Around 80 full time seasonal jobs were lost.

The 98-bedroom hotel was recently put on the market and needs substantial renovation.

The hotel has a full bar, restaurant, function rooms and night club and is described as an ideal business opportunity for the shrewd eye.

Selling agent Gary O’Driscoll says there are currently half a dozen interested buyers based in Ireland and overseas; a number of bids have been placed.

Mr O’Driscoll said he is hoping to get the hotel reopened for the benefit of Ballybunion and the wider north Kerry region.
