Seven people were killed on Kerry’s roads last year.
There were a further 17 serious injury collisions in the Kerry division.
There were seven fatal crashes in the Kerry Garda Division so far last year.
In all cases, no drivers were killed, the victims were pedestrians, pedal cyclists and motorcyclists.
There was no change from the previous year, 2015, when seven people also died on the county’s roads, however the numbers are down 50% on 2014.
There were also 17 serious injury collisions in the Kerry Division last year.
Gardaí say drink driving continues to be a major problem in Kerry, as does the number of detections of people driving while on their mobile phone.
Gardaí held over 2,000 check points across Kerry during 2016, and say road safety will continue to be a priority in 2017.
