Search and rescue helicopter pilots vote for industrial action

Pilots involved in flying Ireland’s search and rescue helicopters, including at Shannon, have voted in favour of industrial action.

The Irish Independent reports that members of the Irish Airline Pilots’ Association (Ialpa) accounting for 90% of the pilots have voted in favour of industrial action up to and including strike in a row over retention and recruitment.

CHC, the company which operates the service on behalf of the state, says it is committed to engaging with the union.
