Search continues for civic amenity site in Listowel

The search continues for a civic amenity site in Listowel following the rejection by members of The Town Council over a proposed site on the Ballybunion road. The proposed location for the amenity is on council property on the Ballybunion road in the town. The amenity will take larger domestic items such as disused fridges and washing machines. However it was rejected by members in the council chamber. The council have been looking for a site for a number of years but failed to find one.The original amenity in Ahasgra in Duagh was shut down a number of years ago because it was no longer suitable. Since then the public have been forced to bring their rubbish to the landfill at Muinemuinnean. An alternative location will now have to be found by the council to facilitate the public.
