Sea conditions delay opening of Skellig Michael season

Weather conditions have delayed the beginning of the tourist season on Skellig Michael.

The OPW announced last week that Sunday would see the start of this year’s season on the UNESCO World Heritage site.

There had been fears that a rockfall in recent weeks on the monastic site discovered by OPW staff could have postponed the season; however, experts have cleared the rocks and declared the site safe.
