Rory McIlroy Withdraws From The Open Championship

Rory McIlroyRory McIlroy has withdrawn from this year’s Open Championship. The world number one has confirmed that he won’t risk further damage to his ankle injury, which had already forced him to pull-out of this week’s Scottish Open. The 26-year-old says that he is “taking a long term view” in relation to the injury and his recovery. Some medical experts have suggested that McIlroy’s ankle ligament injury could take up to 12 weeks to recover, which could also threaten his involvement in the US PGA.
