Rob Kearney To Train Fully Ahead of World Cup Clash With France

Ireland management have confirmed that Rob Kearney will train fully this week ahead of Sunday’s World Cup clash with France. The full back missed the last two matches with a glute injury. Jared Payne may also be available but it will be 24 hours before there’s more news on the Ulster centre. Australia flanker Michael Hooper has been cited for an alleged act of foul play during Saturday’s 33-13 World Cup win over England. The result knocked the tournament hosts out of the competition in the pool phase. Hooper went unpunished for an incident in the 39th minute. He’ll face a disciplinary hearing in London tomorrow. England’s coaching team are being investigated for an alleged breach of communications protocol during their World Cup defeat to Australia. It’s believed two members of Stuart Lancaster’s backroom staff have been accused of approaching match officials in the tunnel at half time. The defeat eliminated the hosts from the tournament. Leinster have announced that Girvan Dempsey has been appointed as their full-time backs coach. The former full-back has been filling the role on a temporary basis since the departure of Matt O’Connor at the end of last season and he’s now agreed to takeover full-time until the end of the 2016-17 season. Leinster have also confirmed that skills and kicking coach Richie Murphy won’t be returning to the province after the World Cup after agreeing a new full-time role with the IRFU that will see him focus on the national side.
