Over 1,800 metres of road across five housing estates in the Killarney Municipal District are to be taken in charge by Kerry County Council.
The roads taken in charge – in accordance with Section 11 of the Roads Act 1993 – comprise areas in Firies, Fossa, Rathmore, Killarney and Castleisland.
The recent meeting of Killarney Municipal District heard that five estates in the municipal area are to be taken in charge.
81 metres of road at Homeland, Dromhall serving six houses and 72 metre of road serving nine houses at Forest Lake Cottages, Fossa, Killarney will be taken in charge.
In Clounts Court, Rathmore 100 metres of road serving nine houses will be taken in charge along with 98 metres in Tobairín, Boolasallagh, Firies, serving six houses.
The largest portion is the fifth estate to be taken in charge in Castleisland at Cahereen Heights, Cahereen West, where 1,450 metres of road, serving 99 houses, will be taken in charge.
Public notice of intention to declare the roadways as public roadways was advertised with submissions invited.
No submissions or observations were received within the prescribed period.
