Road closures for Ring of Kerry cycle

Some 9,000 cyclists are taking part in the Ring of Kerry Charity Cycle which gets underway tomorrow.Mission Road, Killarney will be closed tomorrow from 5am to 9am and from 11.30am to 8pm, starting at Kenmare Place and finishing at the junction of the N71, Mission Road and New Street.

Beech Road in the town will be closed tomorrow from 5am to 9am and from 12 noon to 8pm.

The Fossa to Killorglin road is closed from 6am to 9am, starting from the junction of the Milltown Road at Fossa via Ballymalis and Anglont and finishing at the junction of the N72 and N70 at Laune Bridge, Killorglin.

Traffic diversions will be in place through Faha and Listry and from Milltown to Killorglin.

The eastbound lane of the N70 Killorglin to Caragh Bridge road  is closed from 6am to 12 noon, starting at the Iveragh Road roundabout. A one-way traffic diversion will be in place for traffic travelling eastbound from Cahersiveen and Glenbeigh via Dooks, Cromane, Garraun and Castleconway. Westbound traffic from Killorglin to Glenbeigh will remain on the N70.

The Sneem to Moll’s Gap road, starting at the junction with Derreendarragh Cross, is closed from 11am to 8pm.

Also closed from 11am to 8pm is the Kenmare to Torc road, starting at the junction of the N70 and N71 at Gortamullin via Moll’s Gap and Galway’s Bridge and finishing at Torc Waterfall Car Park.

Motorists travelling between Killarney and Kenmare at these times are advised to use the route via Glenflesk and Kilgarvan.

Killarney’s New Street Car Park  is closed today until 8pm tomorrow. There’ll be access to Killarney Plaza Hotel and local businesses in the upper section today and tomorrow but with limited parking spaces.
