Richard Behal is released from jail for non payment of TV licence

A man who has just been released from jail after serving 15 days for failing to pay his television license says he wants an apology from The Irish Government. Richard Behal refuses to pay his license because of a ban on the 1984 Broadcasting Act which didn`t allow any member of the Sinn Fein Party to appear on TV or radio.Mr Behal ran on the party`s ticket in the European Elections in 1984. He says he will continue to boycott paying his license and believes the state owes him an apology for what he describes as their undemocratic stance at the time.
