Revised masterplan for Mitchels Regeneration Project in Tralee

A revised masterplan for the completion of the Mitchels Regeneration Project in Tralee has been submitted to the Department of the Environment by Kerry County Council. kerry county council head 26 million euro has been spent to date on the major project. Kerry County Council will build four houses in the area in 2015, three on Mitchels Road and one at the junction of Urban Terrace and Mitchels Road. The local authority will install new lighting in Kevin Barry’s, improve the convent wall at Moyderwell and carry out works at junctions. These works have all been approved for the coming year. A new masterplan for the project has been submitted to the Department of the Environment and it is expected that a programme to implement that will be agreed in 2015 with significant investment being undertaken over the next three years. Proposals include building six houses, a voluntary housing project, a community facility including a sporting element primarily boxing, environmental upgrades, expanding the district heating system and car parking. However these are all dependent on funding being granted.
