Residents of Tralee estate fear social housing development will worsen chaotic traffic situation

Residents of Connolly Park in Tralee say the access road for a new social housing development will make an already chaotic traffic situation worse.

Kerry County Council recently granted planning permission for 28 housing units on a 1.14-hectare greenfield site between Connolly Park, Stack’s Villa’s and Scoil Eoin Balloonagh.

The local authority acknowledges the existing traffic congestion at this location which arises during school run times.

It says the granting of planning is conditional on an upgrade of the junction at Rock St before the occupation of the new units, which will mitigate traffic congestion.
