Rescue Services recover mans body in Killorglin

The body of a man in his 60’s was recovered in Killorglin last night following a three hour search by rescue services. The alarm was raised by a member of the public who contacted Caherciveen Gardai. Valentia Coastguard alerted Knightstown Coastguard unit and Shannon helicopter.A number of locals were also involved in the search. The search was carried out between the Iron Bridge and Killorglin Laune Bridge. The body was finally recovered shortly after 10 o clock last night by Knightstown coast guard unit. Although not originally from the area the deceased is believed to have lived in Killorglin for a number of years. His body has been removed to Kerry General where a post mortem will be carried out today.
