Reports show drop in tourists to country areas in Ireland

Fine Gaels Tourism Spokesman Jimmy Deenihan says regional Ireland is having its worst tourist season for years. He says many visitors coming to Ireland are complaining it’s too expensive to holiday in the country and limit their visits to Dublin. Reports from Kerry, Galway and Donegal show a drop in visitor numbers. Mr Deenihan is calling on the Government to deal with stealth taxes imposed on businesses in the tourism sector. He says some businesses are losing money having to deal with massive refuse charges, commercial rates and general business costs.
