Relative of Ballyseedy Victim on Commemorations – March 2nd, 2023

John O’Shea’s uncle on his father’s side, George O’Shea, was one of the eight Republican prisoners murdered by Free State soldiers at Ballyseedy 100 years ago this month.

There are several commemorations taking place this weekend to mark the centenary. John’s aunt on his mother’s side married Ned Breslin, one of the Free State soldiers involved in the atrocity.
