A decision by Kerry County Council to refuse permission for a north Kerry windfarm has been appealed.
The Ballylongford Windfarm Group is seeking to build eight 126-metre turbines at Aghanagran Middle, Aghanagran Lower, Ballyline West and Tullahennell South, Ballylongford.
The local authority believes the proposed development would give rise to an excessive proliferation of wind turbines on this low-lying flat landscape.
It also raised concerns that the development would give rise to peat instability, pose a serious risk of pollution to surface water and could interfere with a local ringfort.
The developers have appealed the decision to An Bord Pleanala, which will rule on the case in the coming months.
