The Rural Dwellers Association is to actively lobby for the construction of single rural housing in Kerry. The group which holds its AGM in Killorglin later tonight will be addressed by Dr Seamus Caulfield, Mick O Connell and Jim Connolly. The association which was formed to address issues affecting rural people will discuss depopulation, the deteoriation of rural services and planning issues. They will also lobby for the removal of the occupancy clause from planning applications. The Kerry branch also wants to actively pursue the reconstruction of derelict housing in rural areas.
