Rally to take place in Dingle to highlight new hospital delay

A group of local people in Dingle are to hold a rally in the town on St Patrick’s day to highlight the delays in the provision of a new community hospital for the peninsula. The General Manager of Kerry Community Services warned last month that Dingle could be in danger of losing the site for the hospital if they don’t get the green light soon to proceed to tenderThe site was donated by a family on the condition that plans for the 72 bed facility are continually active. The project appears to have stalled due to an issue at departmental level over the provision of ongoing funding once the facility is built. Thursday’s rally in Dingle has been organised by an independent group in the town and they say they don’t intend to disrupt the annual parade.
