Racing Preview For Fairyhouse And Tramore

FAIRYHOUSE First race: 12.25 (7 Races – Jumps) Going: Soft (Soft to Heavy in places) ‘Ravished’ returned to winning ways at Limerick just three days ago but Mouse Morris hasn’t wasted long in sending his charge back to the racetrack as he lines up in the Boylesports Irish Grand National @Fairyhouse Handicap Chase (3.10) at Fairyhouse on New Year’s Day. Ger Fox, who rode him to victory at Limerick, is back on board and he is sure to be towards the top of the market along with Sword Fish and Knock Beauty. Just five face the starter in the Fairyhouse Supporting Ratoath Beginners Chase (2.35) but it looks a decent contest with the Tony Martin-trained Noble Emperor up against the promising Moonshine Lad from the Gordon Elliott yard. Dermot Weld sent out Windsor Park and Vigil to win at Leopardstown’s Christmas meeting and he will be hoping that hot streak can continue with Stuccodor in the opening Happy New Year Maiden Hurdle (12.25). The action at Fairyhouse begins at 12.25 and there are seven races down for decision.   TRAMORE First race: 12.05 (7 Races – Jumps) Going: SoftHorse 3Marito’ ran out an impressive winner of the Listed Attheraces Chase (2.15) 12 months ago when he got the better of Roi Du Mee and both of those are back in search of more glory in this year’s renewal. The presence of the Willie Mullins-trained Turban and Aupcharlie from the Henry de Bromhead stable means that it should be a showdown tpo savour. Ruby Walsh has a cracking book of rides at Tramore and it is interesting to see Pat Fahy book him for the ride on Treacy’s Star in the concluding Tom Carroll Memorial Handicap Chase (3.25). The action at Tramore on New Year’s Day begins at 12.05.
