A pup who was stolen in South Kerry almost four months ago, has been re-united with his owner this week, after turning up in Tallaght in Dublin on Tuesday.
The miniature Yorkshire terrier, named Keanu, was taken from a van parked outside Loher Church near Waterville, along with his brother, on September 30.
Owner Ger Donoghue from Valentia, who had only just bought the pups a day previously, had given up all hope of getting them back.
But he received a call on Tuesday to say that Keanu – who was microchipped – had been found wandering in the Dublin suburb and was traced back to his owner by a local vet.
Mr Donoghue says the happy outcome is proof of the importance of microchipping, and he’s now hopeful that the other missing pup, named Indiana, might turn up as well.
