Public’s help sought in bogus tradesmen investigation in Tralee

Tralee gardaí are appealing for the public’s help in tracing a van as part of their investigation into bogus tradesmen.

Two days ago, on Thursday afternoon, two men, with a ladder, called to the home of an elderly man in Connolly Park.

They offered to clean drains for a small fee; however, after a while, it’s alleged they told the householder more work needed to be done.

They charged 800 euro which the elderly man gave to them; however,  gardaí say no work was carried out.

Tralee gardaí believe the two men were travelling in a blue van which resembles a Citroën Berlingo.

It’s believed a third man was in the van while the two called to the elderly man’s home.

Tralee gardaí say the suspects were in Connolly Park on Thursday afternoon between 1.40 and 2.30pm.

If anyone made a note of this van’s registration, they’re asked to contact Tralee gardaí at 066 7102300.

Gardaí would also like to speak to drivers with dashcam footage as they may have a record of the van.
