Public warned not to buy illegal cigarettes after burglarly at Lixnaw shop

Gardai are warning the public not to buy cigarettes from illegal sources, after a quantity of cigarettes was stolen from a shop in Lixnaw.

Three young people entered Foley’s Checkout shop in the village in the early hours of Friday morning, and stole a small amount of coinage, along with the cigarettes.

On the same morning, the window of the post office in Lixnaw was also damaged.

Gardaí are investigating a possible connection between the two incidents, and are currently examining CCTV footage from the shop.
