A public consultation on the proposed South Kerry Greenway is to take place later this month.
Kerry County Council says progress on the project has been steady, and the Route Selection Report is substantially complete.
Councillor Michael Cahill brought a motion to a recent South and West Kerry Municipal District meeting, asking for an update on the proposed South Kerry Greenway.
Kerry County Council says the information for an environmental impact statement is being compiled, and is due to be issued in the coming week.
They add ground investigation works are to be undertaken by Priority Geotech in selected locations and all relevant landowners have been contacted.
However, Kerry County Council continue to engage with a number of landowners along the proposed route.
A public consultation is to be held later this month and will likely take place over two days.
