Proposed changes could cost Kerry 19 resource teachers

Chairman of the Tralee branch of the INTO says Kerry is set to lose 19 teachers if a new plan by The Department of Education to allocate recourses according to school size is implemented. At present resource teachers are allocated according the number of pupils needing help, however The Department is proposing the allocation be determined by the size of the school. Mike O Donnell says small schools will bare the brunt of this change, which would have a major effect on the county due to the prevalence of small schools.
