Proposals for Tralee to host Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann along with a Chinese New Year festival are among the plans included in a new tourism development report.
Developing Tourism in Tralee – Action Plan to 2025 was commissioned by Tralee Chamber Alliance with support from NEWKD (North, East and West Kerry Development).
It focuses on making Kerry’s county town one of the top tourism destinations in Ireland.
The report outlines that Tralee is aiming to become the first China friendly town, with plans to host a Chinese New Year Festival in early February.
There are also plans to hire a business development manager to better promote the area as a tourism hub.
Managing Consultant with Tralee Chamber Alliance, Ken Tobin says if all Kerry towns work together and develop similar reports, it will hugely benefit the county:
