Postmortim is carried out on Ballydavid fire victim

A post mortem has been carried out on the body of the elderly man who died in a house fire in Ballydavid in West Kerry overnight. He’s been named as 91-year old William Cahillane. His body was removed to Cork University Hospital where the post mortem was conducted earlier today. The fire took place at around 11 o clock in the upstairs of the house at glashabeg. It’s believed an electric blanket may have been the cause of the fire. Mr Cahillane`s wife was downstairs at the time, but wasn’t injured. The scene has been preserved and officers have carried out a technical examination.
