Postcards from Abroad | Lanzarote – July 31st, 2020

A north Kerry woman living in Lanzarote says visitors to the Canary Islands should not be asked to quarantine when they return home.

The Spanish-owned islands off the coast of Africa are not on the Irish Government’s Green Travel List and holidaymakers must quarantine for two weeks after returning home from the Canaries.

There has been a spike in cases of Covid-19 in mainland Spain but there are currently only 11 cases on Lanzarote where Lyrecrompane-native Áine Collins owns the Bucket List Bar with her husband Nathan Tadier.

They spoke to John Drummey in the latest episode of our Postcard from Abroad series and Áine started by describing when she received the news of her mother’s death.
