Pope removes Priest in the Kerry Diocese

The Director of Communications for The Diocese of Kerry is confirming that Pope John Paul removed a priest in the Kerry Diocese. The Diocesan Office is refusing to make any further comment on the case, but it’s understood the Vatican took the decision in August. The priest hasn’t been in active ministry for ten years and had been the subject of a Garda investigation. A complaint was made based on an alleged incident in the mid-eighties and a file was sent to The Director of Public Prosecutions. However, the DPP decided not to prosecute. The priest worked in a number of parishes in the Kerry Diocese during the 1980s.
