Politicians to attend women’s pensions meeting in Listowel tonight

Kerry’s Oireachtas members and local councillors are to attend a meeting in Listowel tonight, to answer questions about the lack of equality in women’s pensions.

The ‘Kerry for Pension Equality’ meeting is being organised by the Kerry Women’s Interactive Network, and it takes place at the Listowel Arms Hotel at 7pm.

Catherine Lane from the Women’s Council of Ireland will address the politicians on a range of pension-related issues, including the injustices suffered by older women, who were forced to give up their careers because of the marriage ban in the 1970s.
