The Railway Cup’s days are long gone.
There are probably some listeners who’re unsure what that was, despite it running up to 2016.
In recent weeks, following the passing of Packie McGarty in Leitrim, we heard of the competition’s significance back in the 50s, 60s and 70s. It gave a chance for the best footballers and hurlers a chance to play against the best around.

While it’ll never be brought back, we’ll reminisce this evening about its loss.
