Two of Ireland’s most acclaimed poets passed away over the weekend. Brendan Kennelly died at the age of 85. The Ballylongford native published more than 30 collections of poetry. He was also a former professor of modern English at Trinity College Dublin Máire Mhac an tSaoi (99), was one of the most important Irish language poets of the 20th century.
