Plans to refurbish tourist industry to boost visitor numbers

The Chief Executive of Cork Kerry Tourism is rejecting claims that they are to lose their marketing powers to their national body. Under changes proposed by the Government, it`s planned to refurbish the tourist industry across the country because of a decline in visitor numbers outside of Dublin. These plans include the closure or the scaling down of local tourist offices of which Kerry has three full time and five seasonal. Marie Moynihan says while Cork Kerry is supportive of the recommendations, she doesn`t believe the closure of offices will increase visitor numbers.
