Plans in place to open Tintean Theatre in Ballybunnion

The threat of a withdrawal of rate payments by some businesses in Ballybunion has been lifted following the successful conclusion of negotiations between the developers of the Tintean project in the town and Kerry County Council. The directors of the centre announced yesterday that plans are now in place to open the theatre.The Council has agreed to give 50,000 euro to the centre for use of its car parking facilities, and a further 100,000 euro is to be provided through a programme grant. Tintean Administrator Noel Keenan says that he believes that the new agreement will lift the treat of a ratepayers strike.
