Patsy Byrne honoured by Ireland Fund of Great Britain

Duagh native Patsy Byrne has been posthumously honoured by the Ireland Fund of Great Britain at a ceremony at the Irish Embassy in London. Patsy Byrne Presentation Mr Byrne’s son Michael was presented with the fund’s Forgotten Irish Award to commemorate his outstanding contribution to the Irish community in Britain. Patsy Byrne along with his brother Johnny founded the Byrne Group which is responsible for building some of London’s most renowned buildings including the Olympic and Emirates Stadiums. Ireland Fund Great Britain CEO Sheila Bailey said that Patsy was a man who lived his values and brought employment and security to thousands of his countrymen who arrived in Britain to make a living.
