Italian businessman Massimo Cellino has been disqualified from buying a majority stake in Championship club Leeds. The Football League in England announced that he’s failed the ‘owners and directors test’. Cellino was recently found guilty by a court in Sardinia of the non-payment of import duties. This breaks the Football League’s test of whether an owner has been convicted of an act considered to be dishonest. Nottingham Forest have confirmed that manager Billy Davies has been sacked. The move was being widely reported this morning, after their 5-nil thrashing by rivals Derby County at the weekend. That came at the end of a poor run of games for Forest, that saw them drop out of the Championship play off places. Former Crystal Palace and Sheffield United manager Neil Warnock is reportedly set to take charge of the two-time European Cup winners, initially until the end of season.
