A call has been made for a parent`s action group to be set up to tackle the issue of teacher losses if a new plan at The Department of Education is implemented. Kerry could loose up to 19 teachers if the allocation of resources according to school size gets the green light. At present resource teachers are allocated according to the number of pupils needing help.A meeting was held in Tralee last night about the matter. It`s thought that small schools will be most affected by the change. Anne Thompson is a concerned parent with a special needs child. She says action needs to be taken now.
