Over 500 attend John Lenihan book launch in Tralee

More than 500 people turned out in Tralee last night to attend the launch of a book based on the life and times of one of Kerry’s greatest athletes. ‘Tough as Leather’ focuses on Ballymacelligott native and former world mountain running champion John Lenihan. The launch took place in Gally’s Restaurant, Tralee last night with Radio Kerry’s Weeshie Fogarty as master of ceremonies. John Lenihan is considered to be one of Ireland’s greatest athletes; in the space of his career the Ballymacelligott man has ran 140,000 miles – the equivalent of running around the world six times.
