One Kerry settlement on latest tax defaulters list

A nightclub owner, a doctor and an insurance company are among the tax defaulters hit with bills of nearly €10 million in the last few months.

Revenue says 43 settlements were made in April, May and June – and over €6.5 million remained unpaid as of June 30th.

One Kerry person made a settlement with Revenue according to the latest tax defaulters list; David Anthony McKeown, an insulation contractor and company director of Knocklyne Valley, Sunhill, Killorglin, was ordered to pay over €40,000 in a Revenue Audit Case for the underdeclaration of PAYE, PRSI, and USC.

Fines and penalties of more than a €1 million were also imposed by the courts on 185 people under-declaring tax or not declaring it at all.
