Oil tanks may be removed from around the county

Oil tanks could be removed from all piers around the county after a spill in Kenmare 10 days ago. Kerry County Council is to consider asking the owners of oil tanks to remove them to avoid another incident. The Council says there was no environmental damage done by the Kenmare spill but they must look at how to protect against such incidents in the future. According to Vincent Hayes of Kerry County Council they are looking at the viability of introducing the system in every pier in the county.
