Objection lodged to multi million euro development in Ballybunion

The Department of The Environment has lodged an objection to a multi million euro development along the scenic Sandhill Road in Ballybunion. McCormick Properties, the owners of the Former Atlantic hotel site are looking for planning permission to construct twenty nine apartments in two blocks, two storey houses and two three storey houses in a terrace along sandhill road.The site also over looks a section of Ballybunion beach. Residents on the sandhill road have also lodged their objections. The developers bought the site for two and a half million euro with outline planning permission for 72 apartments. However this application was allowed to lapse. A decision is due from the planning authority in the next two months.
