Number of thefts from vehicles committed in Kerry increased this year

The number of thefts from vehicles committed in Kerry increased last year.

According to figures from the Kerry Division of An Garda Siochana, there were 118 thefts from vehicles committed in 2017, representing an increase of 22% countywide.

Tralee had the lowest percentage rise with 17%, while Listowel experienced an increase of 22%, and Killarney had highest increase with 26%.


There was no increase in the number of thefts OF vehicles in 2017, following on from 29 last year.

Chief Superintendent of the Kerry Division, Tom Myers, is asking the Kerry public to remain wary of leaving their valuables in vehicles.
