The number of burglaries in Kerry has decreased so far this year.

According to figures released at the Joint Policing Committee meeting, there were 53 non-aggravated burglaries in the county during the first quarter of this year.

This represents a decrease of 24% on the same period in 2018, when 70 burglary offences were recorded by gardaí.

Chief Superintendent Eileen Foster says burglary is an offence that is particularly upsetting on homeowners, and it’s one local gardaí will continue to focus on.
