NRA appeals plans to expand a café outside Killarney

A decision to grant a café outside Killarney permission to expand has been appealed by the NRA. In October Kerry County Council gave the proprietors of Ladies View Craft Shop and Café at Derrycunnihy, Killarney, permission to convert part of the existing flat roof of the premises to café roof terrace use. An Bord Pleanala Permission is also sought for an enclosed stairs to the terrace, and fire escape bridge to a place of safety. The National Roads Authority says it’s seriously concerned that the submitted site layout plans ‘do not show any future demarcated carpark or road safety management strategy which would resolve the current haphazard parking arrangements along the N71 at this location.’ An Bord Pleanála is due to publish its decision on this appeal in March of next year.
