North Kerry writer/director sells TV show to major US network

A former Radio Kerry School of Broadcasting student has sold a new show to a major US TV network.

Gerard Barrett from Knockanure sold his one-hour drama ‘Honey’ to FX and Fox, the network which is home to ‘Sons of Anarchy’ and ‘Fargo’.

The award-winning north Kerry writer/director will develop the show – set in the world of corporate espionage – out of LA, Dublin and Kerry.

Speaking to Treasa Murphy on Kerry Today, the director of Glassland and Pilgrims’s Hill said he played ‘the Kerry game’ when sealing the deal with the Hollywood ‘suits’:

Gerard’s most recent project ‘Brain on Fire’ is based on a true story and stars Chloë Grace Moretz as Susannah Cahalan, a journalist who cannot explain her new, erratic behaviour.
