A North Kerry woman is the new chair of an independent organisation which identifies future leaders in the Irish agriculture sector.
Karen Brosnan, who is originally from a dairy farm in Kilflynn, is taking over the top role at Nuffield Ireland.
The group, which is part of a global movement providing scholarships for participants, is hosting its annual conference on November 15th in Dublin.
Among the speakers will be asdee dairy farmer, Karol Kissane who will present his findings on a review of perceptions of agriculture among school students.
Tommy Heffernan, a vet who is originally from Milltown, will also speask about a cow-centred approach to modern dairy farming.
