North Kerry and Tralee-Fenit Greenways move step closer to start of construction

The North Kerry and Tralee-Fenit Greenway projects will move a step closer to the start of construction tomorrow.

Junior Minister for Tourism and Sport Brendan Griffin will turn the sod on both the North Kerry and Tralee to Fenit greenways.

In June, €6.5 million in funding was announced for the two greenway projects in Kerry.

The beginning of construction works will be marked at two events tomorrow morning.

Minister of State Brendan Griffin will turn the sod on the North Kerry project at 9.30 tomorrow morning; this project will be 10.5km in length and will run from Listowel to the Limerick county bounds.

The ceremony will take place near the Tim Kennelly roundabout at the end of the John B Keane road in Listowel.

The Junior Minister for Tourism and Sport will then travel to Fenit to turn the sod on the site of the Tralee to Fenit greenway at 10.30am.

This’ll take place at the footbridge in the village.

The Tralee to Fenit greenway will be 10.6 kilometres in length.
